I'm going to apply real cut brick over my dura rock. Should I use s type mortar or Thin Set? I was told by a mason friend that Thin Set would be a lot stronger, he said S type mortar was more water proof, for exterior use and not as strong. Just wondering what others have used.

When I used brick face on cement board I set it in Thin Set and used grout to finish. I have had no problems with it...
