order A type 2 hearth pad 4 our 1983 Kodiak wood stove. realized once we set everything up that its a type one. stove shop said no worries that they have an R factor too. what do you think ?

Everything has an r-value, but is it the right one? As I understand a Type 1 is mostly ember protection. What is the required R-value? I don't know if a default r-value exist for older stoves. I'm guessing that since it is a Fisher knock-off that they may be similar. Either way I would get the best possible. Go back and get the one you ordered.
