All you experts out there, I am rebuilding a 20 year old Hearthstone Phoenix I model 8611 and I need some advice. I have it semi apart as I have to repair the Primary Air Manifold. To do this I had to remove the top, no problem there. A couple of the side soapstones have cracks that go straight through. Can I take these out and repair these with stove cement? I also need to know which stove cement you great people would recommend for the entire rebuild. Lots of diff cements out there, some with best use dates and all that. It's not cost I'm worried about, I want to do it right the first time. Thanks in advance/ Mike

You want to use HEARTHSTONE Stove Cement. The company makes their own product for use with soapstone.
I'd also recommend replacing stones that are cracked completely thru. You will end up with color differences,
but you will be safer.
