So i am resurrecting the old Tarm MB55 for another year of use as a shop heater. What do you guys think about welding some 1.25 black iron together and installing turbulators for an added heat exchanger in the old beast. The shop is very well insulated, so the boiler is overkill, but i own it and it still holds water.

I would leave it as is. How would you transfer heat to the water with what appears to be a firetube exchanger surrounded by air? Turbulators are not used in any water tube boilers (Greenwood/Seton) that I have heard of. Randy
