I'm about to buy a water to air heat exchanger. I've found a few that appear to be decent prices. Can anyone comment on the quality of any of these and direct me to the one I should purchase?

I've heard a few good reviews on this seller from this forum

On the surface, these all look to be pretty much the same.

While we're at it, I might as well purchase a sidearm exchanger for my water heater(s). I think I'm going to go with a sidearm and if I don't like it, switch to a flat plate and pump eventually. So here's what I've found so far:

Thanks for the help.

How hard is your water? How old is your water heater?

The reason I am asking - or warning - is that I have a lot of flow restriction due to calcium build up in my hot water heater. I have a sidearm and am thinking of either a small pump and/or water softener to improve heat transfer. Or mabye a Boilermate or similar.

With a flatplate - you better have good water.

My $.02.

I have hard water. If I went flatplate, I was planning on cleaning it out yearly as preventative maintenance. My water heater situation is a little different. My current one is 12 years old. I have a brand new one sitting in the box downstairs as well. I was planning on installing the new one and wiring it up, and also using the old one as a storage tank only and not wiring that up. I think all it will need is a new anode rod because it drains clean every time.

Well I guess I'll order both from freeheat4u. I've seen others on the forum happy with his stuff. Can't be that expensive of a mistake if it's bad, right?
