heat & glo north star fireplace grates?

I just installed Heat n glo northstar wood fireplace. It did not come with a grate for the wood. Anyone else have one? Do you use a grate?

what does the manual say?

no grate used in most epa cert. models btw

No grates are need for the Northstar. Just lay the wood right on the firebrick bottom.
