I have just aquired a wood stove but it has no markings. Any help to identify it would be great, its 32"tall 32"wide and 26"deep has a grated bottom with a push pull handle that closes the grates, its got an ash pan the whole width, the door had a window at one point and ha 2 screw vents in it. theres also a hinged metal flap behind the door, any help would be great, plz.

Your pictures don't show much detail. I'm sure there is a detail on it someone may recognize. Things like the air regulator knobs, (or draft caps) or ash pan latches and how the ash pan face seals to stove may give clues as to the manufacturer. Is there a gasket on ash pan face? Are there clips or retainers inside for firebrick? It's odd if there is no firebrick shelf or retainers. Is there a hole in the shaker or grate handle to hook a tool to push and pull it open? And what state is it in? Many local fabricators didn't ship stoves far and that gives an indication of where it may have been made.
As far as "types" go, there is only cast iron or steel plate. Coal or wood. The hinged plate is normally to prevent smoke roll in when door is open, (pointing to wood) since smoke starts to come in at the top. It swings in for loading larger pieces. A coal stove would not have that, but would have that type of plate at the bottom of door for a "banking plate" usually made of cast iron to top the coal up, making a hopper. They also have angled pieces at the bottom to funnel the coal onto the grates. Coal stoves also have a primary air adjustment under the grate and a smaller air intake above the grate.

Yeah we need better pics for sure those grates really look like coal grates but the rest doesnt as much hard to tell without more detail

In North Carolina, the grate handle is just rectangular metal no hole or anything, no seal on ash pan has no seals or latches, sorry sic quality sucks due to poor lighting, has no clips or anything for firebrick but i would like to use brick if pissible

Part of the lack of detail is that the stove has little detail, just a flat metal box with a door, door used to have glass but has been covered with metal, ash pan is a simple drawer with no seal or latches. would like to use firebrick inside just dont know how to secure them?
