Help! VC 8" oval to 6" round

I was just about to pull the trigger yesterday on a VC Defiant 2in1 when I was told the oval to 6" round adapter is 11" long. They had told me there was a shorter one but apparently it is only for an 8" round. After searching the internet, I can't seem to find an adapter shorter than 11". I am doing a rear vent install into my fireplace, so the stove would be over the front of the hearth by about 4 or 5 inches.

Does anyone know where to get a shorter one?

Has anyone made their own stove pipe?

Any other suggestions?

The shortest one I know of is the shorty oval to round from Sandhill wholsalers and it is 7" tall.

And that one is only to 8" round, where I need to go to 6" round. The dealer told me they had one that was 5" long for an 8" oval to 8" round, but then would still need a reducer to go from 8" round to 6" round.

Yes, I was wondering about having a shop make up a stainless steel box with an oval collar extension on the stove side and a 6" round takeoff on the top.
