What is considered too high a temp to run at? When do you have to worry?
 
2000 degrees. You are probably not going to be a happy camper.

All jokes aside, you probably shouldn't go above 800 degrees.

Why do you ask?
 
Where is the temp being measured? The temps vary at different locations.

IE, it's nothing for my "glass" to get up to 1000 degrees on a hot burn with the air-wash completely shut down. But the flue temps would be much lower than that...
