i have a majestic sc36 in my house I bought this past spring. Previous owners had used a gas log, but it’s no longer in the fireplace. I want to use it as wood burning and I’ve confirmed that it can do either and I’ve had a sweep check it over. The only thing he didn’t have an answer for that’s stopping me, is what to do about the knock outs in the firebrick panels. Do they make plugs for them, or can I use some sort of mortar or concrete patch? Or do I need to replace the panels themselves. Any input would be appreciated.

You may need a backing and maybe some pins to keep the patch in place.
