    Screw the gel, hand sanitizer is the same thing and a lot cheaper. Even better than that is a propane torch on the pellets for 30-45 seconds, close the door and you are off to combustion land.

    The hand sanitizer does work well. Never had much luck with the torch strangely.

    Will any hand sanitizer work ? thats a cool idea i just installed an old pellet stove in my hunting cabin with out auto ignition

    It should. Mine is germ-x brand. 63% alcohol. 126 proof! Whoooo! Lol. (Don't drink it)

    I've found the water in it breaks down the pellets a bit making them ignite even easier.

    I have used both and prefer the Bernzomatic....hit the pellets for 45 seconds and done.

    Shhhhs on the "raving about them". Dont want Lowes doing what they did up here with Greene Team where they caught on and overpriced them. ;)
