Following in the footsteps of the late Sarah Burke of Midland, Ontario, Huntsville girl, Dara Howell, wins gold in the slope-style skiing event in Sochi! Congratulations are in order here!

If anything, it shows that you do no have to be from Mont Tremblant or Whistler to have a heart of gold!!

Seeing how there are signs up all over town in support of her, I hear that the Huntsville Ski Club in collaboration with the Town Council will have some kind of party when she returns to Huntsville. Rumour has it that the Mayor is going to block off part of the Main Street and bring in snow to make a ski hill! Being that we have somewhere around 400 cm for the year so far, it should be easy. ;) I am sure more details will unfold when we get our weekly paper Friday.

How was your Family Day? It started out -30 here but warmed up nicely to minus 12 by noon. Hope the weather was up to par for you too, for any outside adventures.:)
