Well, I ahve 50 acres with predominately hemlock but I dont thinkg htat I am gonna burn it in my stove. Jsut not sold on burning softwoods.
 
Don't blame you. If I had nice eastern hardwoods as an alternative, that's what would be keeping me warm.
 
YES, PLENTY OF THEM..iplan on cutting like 2 cord off my property and then buying two cord for the winter..I am expecting to use 4 full cord a year..but we can get 2 cord of split wood for $120/cord hardwood (sugar maple, red oak, beech, ash predominately)
