. . . install an insulated 6" liner into an 8" double-wall chimney pipe? Can one guy do it from the roof?

I'm to the point of ordering the stove, chimney kit and insulation, but have no idea how to insulate the liner and get it onto the roof. Is it doable from the FP? Are there any screws that poke into the 8" that will snag the liner? Should I have the 8" cleaned first?

Has anybody done this? Any and all pointers will be gratefully accepted.
 
I'd start by measuring the ID of the 8 and ith OD of the 6.

I would definately clean the old liner. Any creosote in there will not do any good and could cause a fire hazard.
