During my hose installation I inadvertantly removed the relief valve cap (on the pump) and removed the valve:( How do I get it back to the factory specs? How many turns of the valve? Is tightening it increasing pressure or decreasing? What adverse effects could this have?

Tightening will increase pressure. The only way to set the proper pressure is to have a gauge on the system that will tell you the actual psi.

To much pressure can rupture hoses or damage the pump.
