How do I know if Simpson Duraplus is locked tightly?

There's no click. You just twist until they meet.
If you're not confident they'll stay together you could use locking bands for assurance.
I didn't use bands and it's been fine through some wicked wind storms.

No, they will only twist until they meet. Try it, i bet you can twist it too far

i suppose that would work. i would never put screws in something that twist locks together locking bands will be ALOT easier to install and remove if you have to. GO WITH THE BANDS!!
