We’ve probably burned just under 1/4 of a cord so far since install. Fireplace is RSF Focus 3600. Excellent unit so far.

Seems that there is only a fine layer of dry soot which rubs pretty well away under my finger. Also attached a pic of the underside of the cap.

From a lack of buildup standpoint, you get an A+.
I’m not sure what the dent looking thing is in one of the pics.

That’s not a dent, that’s where I rubbed with my finger to see how deep the soot was. Not sure why that seam looks warped right above it? Might be a lighting illusion. Here’s another pic of the same thing.

I invested in a moisture meter and haven’t burned anything unless it’s under 20%. Most is 10-15%. I’ll go ahead and burn at least a cord and check it again later in the season. This was a preliminary check to get a sense of when I might expect to have to clean it. Based on this I don’t think I’m risking a chimney fire burning through a cord or two before sweeping.

Perfect start to burning. Indeed, slowly ramp up the inspection interval. Don't compromise on the wood because it went so well so far. It can go south quickly. But if you keep doing what you have done, you'll be good.
