Purchased three tons of the North American pellets from Lowe's in min-August for my St. Croix Auburn stove ... the pellets are awesome! They are a soft/hardwood blend and have performed better than I thought that they would. I had never used them before and was gambling by getting so many at one time without prior use but I'm pleased with the performance.

Have bag No. 19 in the stove right now and am over near Del. Water Gap, PA.

Oh I see. I trained the wife to be more comfortable at a lower temperature. She grew up with a woodstove and house always being 80 degrees. I however did not. Im more comfortable in the lower to mid 60s.

If we use the quad its about 1 bag a day when the weather is cold. (Low 30's)

I am running the two Whitfields on nut shells that we store in 50 gallon barrels.

About 5 days on a barrel full.

50 days now with a fire each day.
Looks like we have burned about a ton so far this season.

September was a hit and miss situation with the early part of the month very warm and then a few small fires real late in the month.

October saw regular fires with the stove shut off during the day a few times

The past couple weeks we have had at least one stove running around the clock.

Stove season is here for sure.

Once the cold weather gets here we will likely have two stoves running full time and the fuel consumption will go up a bit.

    Enjoy your Pellet stove.

I guess about a ton, but depends on when you start as we can need heat year round.

And a few cords, I have not kept count.

have a bit over 5 ton stacked up here in the shop ..last yr. I burnt a shade over 4 ...quit counting this yr... Just feed her and she is HAPPY so I just do not even care ...Keep the unit clean and feed her pellets and adjust settings to outside temp.
I know in my heart that burning my pellets for roughly $1,200 + or - is FAR FROM THE 3 OR 4 GRAND$$$ that using my Oil boiler would cost in these times.
    SO I AM CONTENT !!!

I'm at 18 bags. First year burning so I have probably used more than I need to. Once I figure out the settings I will probably burn less.
