Here's what I did on my vacation. So far I split all this wood and I was trying to guess how many cords were in it (yes, the plural of cord is cords), and I thought it'd be fun to make a game out of it. I can't think of a reasonable prize, so you get bragging rights.

Here's the clues and rules- not sure if any help.
    • I split it alone in maybe a day and a half or 2 days with my hydraulic splitter- maybe 1/4 cord or so I did with a maul.
    • It's in 2 piles right now
    • The wood was already cut into rounds, that were fairly conveniently stacked.
    • It's mostly pine, and most of it was cut too short.
    • The bulk of this will be stacked holz hausen/haufen/whatever later this week, and I'll calculate from that
    • You get one entry- you can edit your entry up to the time I post the result (unless you're on my ignore list, then screw ya)

I'm gonna have to take more pics- it looks like a lot more than 2 cords in person

It needs a jar of barbecue sauce next to it for perspective.

Nice looking place...I don't have any idea how many cords, So I will guess that that's a lot of freakin' wood!
  11. Highbeam Minister of Fire

I'm going for 4 cords. Each of those humps look like a cord and if this took you 2 days then I hope you took lots of breaks. If in a hurry you could have had that done on the first day.

OK- only other picture I'll post before its done- the start of the first stack. 44" wide, 34"- that's (carry the naught, times 2 plus double naught...) 0.93 cords and the first pile isn't half gone. But- this panorama view maakes the stack look huge in comparison to the 2 piles, so screw ya, it's not much of a clue. If I wanted it to be easy, I'd have called it the "The easy how many jellybeans... err cords game".

And the winner is..... Scotty- with the Lets Make a Deal strategy paying off. Stacked about 5 cords here, with a remainder of 1/4-1/2 cord in ugly crap left on the ground. (kiln food)

And I get a chance to play with the panorama option
