Just like buildings & furniture,the best made/designed is still here,everything else is compost.
 
Used to fish a pond in a cow pasture all the time. The dried ones never much smelled. Fresh one for sure. The cows used to wade into the pond on summer days. I imagine the catfish were so big from eating all the dung they dropped.
