If I found a source of cherry pits (I think I might have), what do I need to do to burn them in a Bixby Maxfire 115? I'm currently burning wood pellets. Corn is too pricey in my area. Can I edit the corn burning parameters for cherry pits, so that I can switch between wood pellets and cherry pits?

Try some mixed with your wood pellets and maybe you can just adjust fuel and air enough to make them work
