How to finish transition between stove and veneer

I have recently finished up a R90 install. I have the stove slightly recessed from the veneer front. ( back of veneer/ scratch coat is about 1/4 back from front of stove). I have attempted to finish the transition so no gaps with grout. But it keeps cracking. With the stove heating and cooling ( expanding). Is there a good calk I could use.

twist up some steel wool, you can give it a shot of stove paint to make it black and will hold its shape a bit better....
