    Stan, sometimes you make no sense.

    Anyway, if your Appalachian is like mine you have a port near the damper control rod to put the cat probe into, it might have a screw in it that needs to be taken out.

    My Stove is so old it did not come with the hole for Cat Thermometer.

    Then drill a hole in about the same location as mine, your cat housing is very close to mine. That is if you would go ahead and buy the cats. Give Matt a call at Servicesales.com, he will be able to hook you up.
