Whoa, it worked. Of course, do it once, its a fluke. Do it twice, your just lucky,...etc.

That picture looks remarkably similar to terrain around here. Pine trees (probably ponderosa) surrounded by dry open grass. I'll bet you even have prickly pear cactus too.

You got it carbon. It's on state ground that was logged about 30 yrs. ago. About 50% of the mature overstory was removed to release the understory. 30 yrs. later, we came in and selectively logged the understory that was starting to climax. It looks really good and the old pickles that they left originally are now massive 50-60" Pondys. Pretty cool.
