Hey guys

I am not sure if you have ever heard of this: La Romaine. It is quite the engineering marvel for hydro electricity in North America. THe provincial utility company in my province is building it. The cost of the electricity (due to financing costs and building costs of the project) will be $0.06/KWh. SO if they sell it at 2 cents more, they're getting a 33% return on the investment.

Anything like this anywhere else near your locations?

Here's a 10 yo glossy on the project.

Like any other project, it has consequences to the natural surroundings, but I support Hydro, Wind and Solar whenever I can. The folks in the NW US area have electric rates which are 25% of the rates we pay in the New England area, all due to Hydro investments 50 years ago.

There is no perfect solution for any kind of energy/power. All of them have PROS/CONS. I like hydroelectric (personally).

Check out Hydroquebec's last big project: http://www.hydroquebec.com/visit/baie-james/bourassa.html
