centipedes are amazing at keeping insects around wood in control. they'll eat anything small enough for them to eat, and they seem to love these awful argentine and carpenter ants. i've never cared for centipedes one bit, but, i choose them over ants/termites/rollie pollies/spiders.i'm a little unconventional with about anything, and i actively look for wheel bugs and assassin bugs to keep nuisance bugs and roving spiders in check. just make sure the centipedes don't have a reason to try to come into your house.

I kinda don't mind them . They aerate the wood ..... Red oak seasons 4 days faster when it has all those little wholes .
YMMV !
