I need to install a humdifier on my woodchuck 2900. Would it be ok to mount a humdier on the plenum above the furnce? Most of the humidifers I have seen have a plastic housing. Or would a by pass type mounted on the return duct be better? What kind of setup do you guys?

I am afraid it will rust the duct, after the money that i have in it.

I currently have a humidier monted on my gas furnace I have been using in the all winter for the past 6 years, it was in the house when I moved in my duct work is all galvanized steel the exsiting duct is 42 years old and looks good on the inside.
