Lighter wood, burns pretty fast has black lines through it. Very easy split

Hard to tell without seeing the bark ...,whatever species it is -- looks spalted.
 
I'll get the bark pic. Never saw the twigs. Got more pics coming to of a good score this morning
 
Ditto on the maple. I have lots in my wood pile with the same grain characteristics.
 
By the time it starts to spalt, it has lost a lot of BTU content.
 
Looks like the swamp maple here that rots/spaults if I don't get to it soon enough.
( actually I think that starts even before the tree is completely dead )
Usually has polypore/shelf mushrooms growing on it too.
