Ideas or hot water HX.....

Hello again. I've recently replaced my indirect DHW with a Marathon electric untit. It seems as though the old indirect would make a good DHW pre-heater HX. Has anyone ever done anything of the sort? Any ideas or suggestions? It would just be a pre-heater, before the water goes into the main DHW heater. Thanks.

Let us know if you go ahead with it. Pay-off could be good with electric DHW.
