If you odered an RSF Opel Fireplace, would you....

order it with, or without the catalytic combustor?

My dealer hasn't gotten back to me yet, he isn't sold on the catalytic combustor, but readily admits that he simply isn't that familiar with it.

It is EPA certified with it, should that be factored in?

I'm also curious, If I go with the RSF Opel, can the catalytic combustor be installed later? And Is it hard to put in/take out for cleaning etc...Thanks!

I'm also curious about this ... I know it is an old post but does anyone have anything to add? Could the opel be purchased with the cat and then if a person was having issues with it could you simply leave it in bypass mode? The manual for the opel doesn't really describe it very well (or maybe I missed it). If your interested here are some links.

It seems to me that the cost of the cat would be paid back in reduced firewood costs (for those of us that must buy firewood). Any comments, even general ones that deal with cats are great, thanks!
