I would like to access outside air for my brick fireplace. The fireplace does not have glass doors because of a very irregularly shaped stone front and I would like advice on overcoming that problem also. Where could I get vents?

It is very inefficient. Couldn't I take and cut the stone caulk some doors and locate some sort of vents to draw outside air instead of my homes air???

Are you looking to put some sort of usable heat into the house with the fireplace or just make it not LOOSE heat.?

Choice 1 would be to get an insert

Choice 2 would be to get some inside fit doors with vents.

Quality custom doors can cost almost as much as an insert (unit only).
