We have had a Wesland stove insert for over 30 years, but no info. The fan cuts off when it is burning very hot. In 5-15 minutes the fan starts again. Can anyone give me an idea why?

Might just need servicing. When was the fan last cleaned and oiled?

Is the fan thermostatically controlled by a snap switch thermostat?

Sounds like the motor could be overheating and maybe has some sort of overload protection. Has it ever been cleaned? Or serviced as mentioned by @begreen ?
