For you insert burner I just found that the frame of the door is not the best place for the thermometer to be placed.

I moved the thermometer to the side of insert top of the door height.

I could not get above 375 on the door frame.

Well nothing was wrong the temp on the side placement was 550 on a cold start after 1 hour.

I also have been very surprised by the length of time that I will have hot coals in the insert.

If I leave some ash in the stove the coals will last over night and even longer.

Hope this helps some others.
