We start from a spark,
To a blaze of glory,
Continue on with warmth & beauty.
As long as we tend to,
Then there's no end to,
As the soul of the fire soars to the sky.
And ashes are left to finally rest upon this hearth,

On the darkest of nights
When the frost is a blight
with no end in sight
there's no need for fright
for all will be right
by the fire's light

Snakes, bats and bugs,
in woodpiles, even slugs!
Under the snow, under the tarp,
pull that wood out, but splinters are sharp!
Into the house, onto the rack,
a crackling fire, rest that weary back!
