I will be going with the Lennox Country Collection Performer C210~ recommended for my factory built.

I have been told I need to line my existing chimney with 6inch stainless steel.
As I am new to the stove stuff, could some explain why I need to line a existing chimney that already burns wood?

Also, my stove pipe has two 45* bends in order for it to go out the chase through the roof.

Will the 6 in SS pipe bend to make those 45’s a?
Also how do I connect the pipe to the stove onces it is set into the fireplace? There will be little or no room to get my hand in there,

thanks for help the help on my previous questions.

The chimney needs a liner because it has to meet the higher higher temp requirement of the new insert. It won't pass inspection without a proper liner. That's how the stove passed insert certification.

First step is to clean the chimney thoroughly before lining. To handle the 45s you'll need to install a flexible stainless liner. It helps to have two people, one at the top and one at the fireplace. Some pull the liner up, others feed it down from the top. There are many threads here about installing liners. Do a search for flexible liner install for starters. That should answer most the things that come up with a liner installation. If not, ask away.

Also, here's a link to a flex liner installation guide that may help:

and a couple companies where you can get liner and parts:
