Hi all,

I small draft coming in where the through-wall tee is. The outside is well caulked, or at least I think it is. I plan on looking at it again this weekend since it is supposed to be sunny.

I was wondering if the space between the wall thimble and the studs should be insulated or left open? What about sealing the drywall-thimble gap (insulation or spray-foam (I can see a fire hazard in that...))? Or high-temp caulking on the thimble/wall-cover?

Thanks!

You can insulate the outer diameter of your wall thimble where it passes between the wall studs. It has the clearance-to-combustibles (CTC) built in
