Just got back from a ski trip to Jackson Hole last week, and the condo we were renting had a VC Intrepid 2 in there that we were allowed to use. Cool. The wood was some crappy semi-dry softwood, so we had a bit of a tough time getting things going, and after 3 hours didn't even have enough coals for a hot reload, but the thing still put out some good heat and was a very nice looking stove. Other complaint was that the doors were significantly smaller than the firebox, so it was tough to get a big split in there if it was already partially loaded. First time with a cat, and I was totally guessing when to shut the bypass. Anyway, we didn't need the baseboard heat all week. I would never let renters burn in my stove if I was the owner, but glad he thinks differently...
