We have many dropoffs of Ipe ( Brazilian hardwood) 2x10's which I'd like to burn in my woodstove. It is extremely dense and untreated. Is there anyone who know the burn characteristics of this wood and if it's safe to burn?

We had our deck built out of ipe by a buddy of mine. Ipe is extremely dense, hard, and has a fire rating close to concrete. ;-P

He said he burned a piece of it one time and it took hours to burn and when it was done it was still in the same shape, just all ash.

That is some expensive lumber, I could see burning scraps, but 2x10's you could build something out of, or even possibly sell.
