We went to Eire to see some friends represent the US in a kickboxing championship. Spent time in Dublin, and drove to a coastal town called Kinsale. Driving through farmland- there are chunks of castles, churches, walls, towers everywhere in fields. Some are tourist destinations, others are just ignored more or less, as there are so damn many. I had fish and chips on Thanksgiving, and may have had a few pints of Guinness. Awesome time. You can see from my pics- it really is what people claim. Everyone was friendsly, and the food was better than England, except it was harder to find a curry.

Is the Guinness served at room temperature?

Nice pics.....Ireland is on my "to do" list.... :)

No, it's served cold. In England they have somewhat warmer Guinness, and then a second tap that says "ice cold" on it. Even there- the "warm" beer is "cellar temperature", not actual room temp as some folks claim. What are called "real ales" and cask conditioned" ales are often served at cellar temp (yummy)

Ireland looks very picturesque.. Great pics thanx for posting!

Great pictures.
Country side looks like a golf course :)

Great pics . . . any more? My wife and I want to go to Ireland in a few years . . . looked like the weather was decent for you as well.

Pics to soothe the soul. Thanks, AP !

Very cool. Thanks Adios Pantalones! I just had to get up and get another beer because of this post. I have the next few days off. :) Thanks again for sharing.

Very nice pictures!

Did they let you drink all you want or just pour your own at the Guinness pub?

Thanks all

By the way- I assumed that "His hooker's in the scilly van" meant that he was a clown pimp. However, it was explained that Scilly is an island, the van refers to vanguard of a fleet, hooker is a type of boat.

Great photos! Visited Ireland about 10yrs ago with my wife and this brought back memories. Kinsale was one of my favorite places. My famiily came Bantry Bay a few generations back so we spent time there as well. Will never forget that first Guiness!
