Hello!

I have a Big E and I am starting the prelim install.

I also have an older house = Brick Walls

Question:
1. Do you need a Wall thimble on a solid brick wall? Can I simply drill though and run a straight pipe to get to the outside?
2. What size hole should I punch through assuming a 3 inch pipe?

Thanks!
Greg

I would install a masonary thimble if it was my house...Never hurts to be safe...My..0.2cents

Greg,

If you're running the pipe through a non-combustible material then you can run the pipe straight through without a thimble. If you do a search on this forum you'll find this info and maybe more to help your install go smoothly.
