Is freezer defrosting chunks ice and cold water safe to drink?

Hubby just defrosted the little small fridge freezer want to give it to Feather girls
. since so hot outside. Otherwise just give them ice cubes from ice trays. we give them rain water boiled otherwise with ice cubes in... in a big glaass bowl set down in aPlaymate cooler with Blue ice underneath
tried a search on search engine. Nothing came up

For your chickens? Absolutely safe. For you, it might have a stale freezer taste.

And you can stop boiling rainwater. The chickens are quite hardy.
