It's 8:15 PM Dec. 8. It's 34::F in Central Maine. My stove is idling. It's boring. Is anyone having to crank their stoves because it's really cold out?

Got a couple inches of snow last night and temps are hanging in mid 20's and supposed to drop tomorrow into single digits with below 0 for sunday night and staying below normal for the week. Will be putting the new setup to the test. Wishing I had moved another ton into the basement. Had not expected to start burning so early this year. Spoiled by last year

It has been on the mild side so far.. but it is only the first week of December.. we have 2 FREAKING MONTHS OF THE COLDEST AIR LEFT. Based on the warm winter last year.. I have a bad feeling we will be crying for relief by the end of January.. I hope I am wrong... just a gut feeling. Maybe we are going into a warm cycle ( ie great vineyards in Scotland and settlements in Greenland that have been covered in ice for years), but one can only hope.
  21. i have to pick up a honda snowblower tomorrow. i'm ok with no cold weather and snow. i'd actually be happy with no snow ever. creates add'l work

Was sitting at around -15* or so for the last several days but warmed up today to about 15*. Wind is blowing like crazy (as usual) and a bit of snow falling as well.
