but I finally put the pegboard up, next is a stop at the hardware store so I can get some pegboard hooks and accessories, any ideas. Looks like I'll run a shelve over top the pegboard and then some down the leftside.

Mill you a monster slab of Beech set right on top of that.
 
Zap, re-hang that board about 12"-16" higher. I love peg-board, but I usually use a 12" wrench to set my height. Gives you room for a long shelf @ the top, plus 2-3 shelves on the side. Top of bench is the most critical thing for me.
