Please help! I've got an unused Jotul #1 Combifire stove but do not have any instillation instructions! Does anyone know what the clearances are for this stove? Any other information about these stoves would be greatly appreciated.

We used a Jotual Combifire #1 for 7 years. It came with the house. We just replaced it with a new stove this season.. This picture shows how it was installed. I don't know the specs for installing it but the stove body is hot on all sides so it should have good clearance from the walls.

Hey Gunks, can you add your spiffy Scan 60 to your signature?

Underbitte, welcome. That is quite a find, it's a serious heater. You should be able to find a UL clearance plate on the rear of the stove. The stove needs a lot of room. You can reduce the clearances by wall shields, the best being by installing an NFPA 211 ventilated wall shield and using either pipe shields or double-wall connector pipe.

If you can get a sharper shot of this UL label from your stove, could you post it here for others to find?

Underbitte, You can get a schematic of your stove ( plus replacement parts) at www.woodmanspartsplus.com.

And Gunks, How do you deal with that hot handle with just the bare steel exposed?
