I've been having an on-going problem with my chimney liner leaking in any amount of rain we get. The stove, a Jotul Kennebec insert, was just installed in early March. I didn't start having water problems until a huge rain we had sometime in April. Since then, it leaks with every storm. I have water running along the top of the stove, water dripping through the interior vents at the top of the firebox and leaks at the bottom of the stove on to the hearth. All of these areas are now rusty.
I called the retailer/installer I bought the stove from and I finally got him to come over to inspect the cap after three phone calls in two weeks (the last call, I admit I got a little heated). Since then, the amount of water has diminished, but I still have water at all three locations.
I am very relunctant to call him again. I am leaning towards calling another stove company, or chimney specialist, to have them inspect the installation and make recommendations... maybe all I need is a different type of chimney cap.
The chimney is a two flue brick chimney that is located on an outside wall of the house. I have a 6" s.s. liner with insulating wrap that is topped off with a round chimney cap. Nothing special. Are there any other types out there, maybe one I could close when not using the stove and open via a chain through the firebox?
I'm concerned my stove is going to rust away in a couple of years if I don't get this problem under control

It sounds like a poor flue cap installation and maybe a cheap cap, though you folks have been getting biblical rains recently. Can you take some pictures of the chimney cap and post them?
