We have an Atlanta Stove Works woodstove that was purchased and installed around 1977 or 1978 for use in our remote and secluded cabin in the Sierras (no electricity, gas or phone!). I don't know the stove model number off hand. We are missing the lid lifter(s) that came with it. As I recall, it had a square hole at the end for twisting the grate and emptying the ashes. Right now we are using a BIG nail to move the lids off and on and it does not work well at all! I would be very grateful if someone more knowledgeable about wood stoves than I could help us to get our hands on a couple of lid lifters that would work for this stove. I've seen several for sale on ebay and other websites, but I don't know if they would fit this one. I assume with lid lifters its not a case of "one size fits all", but I could be wrong.
Also, the old ash box rusted out and we are using a stainless steel drywall "mud pan" for the ashes. Not the best fit, but works OK. If anyone knows a place to get a replacement for that as well, that would be much appreciated too.
