Hi,
I am thinking to make a side wall heat shield myself. brass sheet would be ideal. What local stores usually carry those things? I checked Lowes and Homedepot,
the closest they get are galvanized flat sheet which is not too attractive.

It's really hard to find a metal sheet store here in MA.

If there are still local hardware stores, ask there. Also try craft or hobby stores.

Edit: point being, you want to find a place that, if they don't carry it, will know who does.

Part II: The shop that I bought my stove from contracts with a metal bending shop to build their surrounds - they did the curved one for my insert. Try finding a place like that.
