I have heard some say locust seasons quickly, I disagree. In my experience it is not all that easy to start at least when compared to other hardwoods. It likes its air especially at startup and can be like getting coal to burn its so dense. To start I like to resplit a couple pcs to make a crib so I can give it the air it wants and then even a small amount of wood can get the stove to temp and keep it there. If its dry its good stuff no doubt about it. If its still wet it can be a bit frustrating.
