We stumbled upon this ceremony in our own area last Saturday. The guy holding the plaque didn't want the upkeep any longer and donated this lodge and 520 acres to the American Legion who also works with the Boy Scouts. They want to have the scouts build a campground here for their use. The lodge will be made available to returning veterans that need to decompress a little and reconnect with their families. Oh yes, the lodge was built in 1915.

What a beautiful story....and a beautiful lodge. I'm sure this will be appreciated for many years to come. I also hope they will have enough for upkeep, taxes (maybe tax exempt), etc. else it might be a bit of a burden.
