I use a splitter that has a home-built cradle, very similar design. Works great, does save your back and makes the whole process faster, especially for one person. As long as the shipping isn't too crazy, that's not a bad price if you don't own a welder.

My BIL has a separate steel table built for his that works just as well. My biggest issue is height, seems they make those things so you have to be bent over just a little, which kills my back. I usually set the machine up on a set of oil-change ramps to get it high enough.
